Field - Composite switches, smart capacitors, synchronous switches (Reactive Power Compensation)

Smart reactive power compensation capacitors provide solutions for improving power factor and enhancing grid efficiency. A low power factor not only reduces the effective output of power supply equipment but also increases losses in power supply equipment and lines. Therefore, measures such as parallel capacitors must be adopted to compensate for reactive power and improve power factor.

Relays play a crucial role in controlling the synchronous switching of capacitors. They need to close when the voltage across the contacts is zero (moment when the power supply voltage is equal to the capacitor voltage, allowing the capacitor to be connected) to achieve surge-free capacitor switching. They also need to open when the current is zero (when there is a 90° phase difference between the capacitor voltage and current, i.e., lagging, and one phase is zero) to achieve arc-free interruption of the switch contacts, ensuring reliability and safety. Magnetic latching relays require only a pulse signal to open or close, allowing for quick excitation signals in the millisecond range, with short characteristic times and minimal bounce
